Typically, it’s immediate. The refund is processed automatically when the agent applies for it, and only audited later (if it is found to be in error, the amount is clawed back via an ADM – Agency Debit Memo).

However, if it’s more complex, like you’re wanting a refund for an inbound leg only, or for an involuntary downgrade, it can take up to 6 weeks or so as all those have to be manually looked at and calculated.
